Implementing alternate states enables a comparative analysis between different datasets on the same sheet. Sheets and/or objects which no longer inherit the default state are independent from the rest of the document in terms of selections. In this way, selections on different objects on the same sheet can co-exist without interfering with one another.

Learning Objectives:

  • Understand what alternate states are and where they are useful
  • Create and apply alternate states to sheets and objects
  • Implement these states at different levels within a document
